Where can I camp directly on the beach on the east coast?

I'm in grad school and only have a few days off this summer. I need an affordable beach trip. Where are the best places to camp? I live in WV, so preferably somewhere close. Also, any other random, cheap vacation ideas are an option. Thanks!!
