How will writing 5 books before application to college help in long run?

Are they published by a respectable publisher? If they aren't they won't help you. Anybody can write a novel and say they wrote it, but if they aren't published it won't matter, because the college admission people aren't going to read them, or even look at them. If they are published thats a different story.
