I have a niece that has lice in her hair, she has long hair and we have tried every possible remedy, Help!?

we have tried all kinds of remedies, such as vinegar, hair conditioner, to lice shampoo, we do not want to cut her hair and we do not want to make her hair, dry and brittle. Any other suggestions are welcomed.
