Is their one thing in the universe that exists that defies the laws of physics?

Actually, they have pretty much determined that the entire universe defies the laws of physics, dark energy is supposed to exist to compensate for the fact that the universe is expanding at a rate that can't happen with gravity as the only force acting over long distances.
